The McClaskey family has been involved in Blacksmithing for over six generations. Our skills originated in Europe, and have been acquired, honed and passed down through the centuries. Pat Donald McClaskey polished his skills while serving his county during World War II, building battleships at the Kaiser Shipyard in San Francisco. He married Thaylis Harris in 1944. Being well taught in ornamental ironwork and metal design, he established McClaskey and Sons Ornamental Iron Works in Idaho Falls in 1948. Pat proudly operated the business along side of his family until his retirement. He passed on the business to his son Delynn and his sons and grandchildren proudly carry on the traditions he established.
